CTP/ Printing/ Photo:

Since 1932 the Quinlan family has recycled and reclaimed scrap film. In 1975 we expanded in to the printing industry and added environmental equipment and the purchase of scrap aluminum to our business profile.

Photo processing produces several silver-bearing waste streams, ranging from less than 5 milligrams per liter (mg/l) to 12,000 mg/l of silver. The silver concentration depends primarily upon two factors: (1) the stage from which the wastes originate and (2) the type of film being processed. The predominant sources of recoverable silver are from the photo processing solutions and spent rinse water. The silver in these two waste streams exists predominantly as soluble silver-thiosulfate complex with small amounts of silver sulfide.
